The distinctive 41mm watch case is crafted from Rolex’s Oystersteel, a 904L stainless steel superalloy with a low-carbon content and additives including copper, chromium, nickel, and molybdenum. 904L steels are commonly used in aerospace engineering and are known for their rugged durability. 

The Rolex 116610 comes with a fluted bezel and dial made from Cerachrom, a UV- and scratch-resistant ceramic alloy mixed with pigments to give the watch its vibrant blue hue. The dial is a factory original blue that features indices to mark the hours and hands coated in Chromalight, which illuminates low-light conditions for easy readability. The unidirectional rotating bezel enables divers to monitor compression stops and dive times. The screw-back case and Triplock winding crown provide 1,000 ft of waterproofing. The Rolex Submariner Ceramic 116610 operates using a caliber 3135 mechanical self-winding mechanism driven by the kinetic energy provided by the wearer. 

The 31 jewel movement features a Parachrom hairspring that prevents magnetic energy from disrupting the oscillator. The Oystersteel bracelet is designed with flat three-piece links and connects using the Rolex Glidelock clasp for added security. This double expansion bracelet allows the wearer to increase the band size up to 20mm in 2mm increments, allowing the watch to fit over dive suits.
