With its release in 1997, the Patek Philippe Aquanaut introduced the world to modern sports watch design for the new millennium. This sensational watch combined distinctive aesthetic features with state-of-the-art materials to offer watch enthusiasts a rugged yet sophisticated timepiece that worked just as well in extreme aquatic environments as it does with a well-tailored suit. The rounded octagon case was inspired by the popularity of the iconic Patek Philippe Nautilus, the company’s flagship sports watch. The matte black dial features a unique embossed pattern and a prominent GMT complication with a day/night indicator in the center of the watch’s lower half. This complication allows you to tell the time in two time zones simultaneously. 

While most Patek Philippe designs are made from white or yellow gold, the Aquanaut’s 40.8mm case is crafted from stainless steel for added durability. The case contains a precision-made in-house 324 S C FUS automatic caliber composed of over 290 components, including 29 jewels and a 21K central rotor. 

The movement comprises a Gyromax® balance wheel with a Spiromax® hairspring that operates at 28 800 (4 Hz) and offers a 45-hour power reserve. The case also features a screw-down crown, offering up to 390 ft. water resistance. The sporty bracelet is made from black polymer, and the fold-over clasp increases stability.
